Volunteer Hours & Opt-out Option

Volunteer Resources

TVYLA is a community-powered nonprofit, and volunteer support plays a vital role in everything we do. Our philosophy—Head. Heart. Hustle.—extends beyond the field and into how we support one another as a program. Volunteers help keep our programs strong, affordable, and accessible by supporting game days, events, and behind-the-scenes operations.

We understand that every family’s time and availability looks different, which is why we offer both volunteer hour opportunities and an opt-out option. Whether you contribute through time or financial support, every family helps move TVYLA forward and strengthens the experience for our players.

Volunteer Hour Expectations

Each TVYLA family is asked to contribute volunteer hours during the season:

  • 10 hours per player

  • 5 hours for K–2 and 3/4 families

  • Volunteer hours are capped at two players per family

Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year, with many taking place during the spring season.

Examples of Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer roles may include, but are not limited to:

  • Coaching or assistant coaching

  • Team Parent roles

  • Tournament support (Mountain West Youth Championship)

  • Fundraising events (Tin Cup, raffles, and community events)

  • Score table or game-day support

  • End-of-season celebrations

  • Social media and communications support

How to Sign Up

TVYLA volunteer opportunities fall into two categories:

Program & Event Volunteers

These opportunities support TVYLA as a whole, including tournaments, fundraising, and community events.

➡️ Sign up for program-wide events using the Event Volunteer Sign-Up link below:

Team-Specific Volunteers

Each team has its own volunteer needs, such as:

  • Team Parent roles

  • Uniform coordination

  • Game-day support

  • Stats, social media, and home game help (High School teams)

➡️ Team-specific volunteer opportunities are located on each team’s individual page, along with the Sign-Up Genius link for that team.

Opt-Out Option

Families may choose to opt out of volunteer hours during registration.
Selecting the opt-out fee fulfills your family’s volunteer commitment for the year, which includes Fall Ball and Spring season.

Whether through volunteer time or financial contribution, every family helps support essential program needs such as:

  • Equipment and field supplies

  • Referee costs

  • Tournament and community events

  • Program operations and growth

This option allows families to choose the level of involvement that works best for their schedule, while still supporting the program.

Exemptions

  • Families with more than two players are capped at two volunteer commitments

  • Coaches who meet TVYLA coaching exemption criteria may qualify for volunteer exemptions

How do I track my volunteer hours?

Volunteer hours are self-reported by families.

When you complete a volunteer task, simply log your hours using the Volunteer Hours Tracking Form linked on the TVYLA website. Hours can be submitted at any time throughout the year.

A few helpful notes:

  • Hours can be completed anytime during the year, not just during the spring season

  • Volunteer hours are capped at two players per family

  • It is the family’s responsibility to submit and track completed hours

  • Team Parents may assist with reminders, but hours must still be logged by each family

If you choose the opt-out option during registration, no hour tracking is required.
